Telangana Joint Action Committee's (TJAC) policy, Chairman M Kodandaram announced on Sunday the launch of a new political party. The TJAC, along with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of Telangana Rashtra Samithi, had been at the head of the separate state movement. TJAC's decision to launch a new political party was made at yesterday's meeting of the Executive Committee in the city on Sunday.
"The decision was made based on the demand from different parts of the Telangana society, as the farmers were suffering and the government was unable to come to their aid.The new political party would fight for farmers' problems." Kodandaram added that the name of the party would be announced soon. He said a fight against people's problems would be useless, without coming under the umbrella of a political party.
