Jr. NTR ‘s movie Jai Lava Kusa has been in the news for a long time now and arguably it is one of the most anticipated film as he is playing a triple role for the first time in his career. So lets us take a look and see if the expectations from the film are met.
The story is a bit old fashioned and reminds you of film made in 70’s and 80’s. Jai Lava Kusa are triplets with Jai who has a stuttering problem often ridiculed for his problem. His own brother start making fun of him which make him hate them. The story takes a twist with the separation of Jai Lava Kusa . While Jai becomes a hard core criminal Kusa is a small time crook and Lava becomes a bank manager. The story take a surprising turn when Jai kidnaps both his brother with evil intentions. What are his intentions and how his brother cope up with him. Are they now repentant about their past treatment of him forms the rest of the story.
The big plus point for the film is Jr. NTR. The actor has excelled himself in the film especially in the role of Jai. While the other two character too are etched memorably by him. The way he has delineated the three character is worthy of praise. He has indeed grown as an actor and this film can be counted among his finest so far. The starmmering act is done very convincingly. The emotional drama between the three brother is handled very nicely. The action scenes are well executed and are thrilling for young fans.
Raashi Khanna look lovely and also emotes well. Nivetha Thomas also is a piece of eye candy but her role does not offer her much to do. The climax is good and the audience leave the theatre in an emotional state of mind. Ronit Roy who is making his Tollywood has acquitted himself well. The rest of the cast are adequate and do their part well.
The film is technically brilliant with the visuals appealing to the senses. Director Bobby has done a good job and extracted good performace from the cast.
The biggest minus point of the film is there a sense of predictabily about the film as you feel you have watched this kind of stuff before. The story as said earlier is a bit old fashioned though it has been adapted to the changing audience tastes. Music is a big letdown and Devi Sri Prasad could have done better. The story seems like many a combination of scenes after scenes. Director could have concentrated more on the story than on make every scene making an impact.
The film act as a vehicle to showcase the talent of Jr. NTR and he has excelled in the triple role especially in the negative role of Jai. The story has been told many time on the screen and there is a sense of being there and seen that while watching the movie. But still the acting of Jr. NTR is worth a visit to the theater. In a nutshell the film is like a tribute to the acting skill of the hero.
