Chennai: The three factions who are fighting to inherit the political legacy of J Jayalalithaa celebrated her 69th Birthday with the groups consisting of — VK Sasikala, O Panneerselvam and Deepa Jayakumar — claiming that they are the true followers of the late leader.
All three factions celebrated the occasion the first after her death by distribution free materials .Meanwhile The Tamil Nadu Government commemorated the event by launching a drive to plant around 69 lakh saplings at the cost of Rs. 66 crore and also inaugurating a photo exhibition on the late chief minister.
Speaking to the media Ms Deepa Jayakumar, niece of the late CM, announced the launch of MGR-Amma-Deepa Peravai. She said that would the ensuing by-elections to the R K Nagar constituency,which was represended by J jayalalithaa. Many question if The acronym MAD is suitable for a parties Name.
As Sasikala is cooling her heels in Jail, the celebration were muted in her camp. Meanwhile, Panneerselvam organising a massive public meeting in RK Nagar, where Mr Panneerselvam vowed to “redeem AIADMK and Amma’s government” from the clutches of “Sasikala’s family.”
The coming time will decide who will inherit the legay of J Jayalalithaa. Hopefully the people of Tamil Nadu would not end up looser in this fight of supremacy.
